Thierry and Valérie were introduced to Nepal and the Himalayan region during their mission for Handicap International in Kathmandu. After their contract ended, the couple proposed a project to the association, which involved conducting a study on equitable commerce in the Himalayan region. During this project, they interacted with the skilled artisans of the Kathmandu valley who would later become their suppliers. In 2003, Muskhane was established in Kathmandu with a small team to coordinate production and prepare orders, while the final touches were done by a team of skilled couturiers. After 15 years in Nepal, Valérie, Thierry, and their family returned to France, where they continue to run the business from Annecy in the French Alps. Muskhane products are made entirely from natural and renewable materials and hand-crafted by Nepalese artisans who specialize in working with these fibers. The brand has introduced creative innovations and quality controls, leading to the evolution of their handicraft. Each product undergoes strict attention to detail and care, ensuring the quality of the wools and bringing forth a line of unique objects infused with softness and harmony.
